Kate Wells 

-Versatile vocalist/musician/songwriter - covering an Retro Eclectic Mix of Musical Styles - Blues, R&B, Jazz, Country, Classic & Alternative Rock, and Originals.  California native, Wells’ musical roots started in her home town of Santa Cruz where she spent honing her talents at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center and was influenced by the many musicians in the area. Currently working on an original album, Wells has won several song writing contests. Wells had fronted several groups in Vail, Colorado and in the Monterey area *(the VIEW, Jazz/Pops Quintet, Brain Soup, Dirty Water, Turn 8). Her band, ‘Kate and the Sunfish’, opened for Van Morrison’s daughter, Shana, in 2005 at the Seaside Blues in the Park series. Since 2012, Wells has put together what she calls “the KW Combo” paring with the rich talent of SLO’s finest; Ken Burton (keys) for a FULL BAND sound, and also with Brett Mitchell (piano/vocal) for a jazz/easy listening duet pairing. The addition of other local star players; Rick Pittman (drums) & Wil Anderson (bass), for a “FUNKY FUN” combo of danceable tunes ranging from Joss Stone to Stevie Wonder. Wells was a featured performer at the Slo Down Pub’s tribute to Bonnie Raitt’s musical talents, singing her hits, “Love Sneakin’ Up On You”, “Love Letter”, & “Let’s Give ‘em Something to Talk About” accompanied by the ever talented, Ted Waterhouse. Wells has performed locally at: Vina Robles, River Star, Rio Seco and Wild Horse wineries, the Kreuzberg, SLO DOWN PUB, Linnaea’s cafe, Bang the Drum, Fuel Dock/the Siren, Bru, Haven, Barrel House, Pour House,Bristol's Cider House, SLO Elks, Coastal Peaks Coffee, tne the San Luis Obispo and  Atascadero Marriotts. 

In 2011, Wells made SLO (San Luis Obispo) County her home base, and is looking forward to sharing her love of music with the greater San Luis Obispo community in the coming years. 

Ken Burton

- A musician on the west coast music scene for over 40 years, Burton currently plays with the Burning James band and Guy Budd.  Burton has shown his skills with the Hammond B-3 organ and various synthesizers keyboards on several dozen CDs and recordings and performed at hundreds of clubs, festivals, and other venues.   His extensive background in blues, R&B, funk, rock, and jazz Burton brings a wide variety of styles/sounds to many of the top bands in California performing alongside Joe Cocker, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Tommy Castro, E.C. Scott, Robben Ford, Mark Hummel, Etta James, and legend, B.B. King.
